Jing Project and Education

There are many ways that the Jing Project can be used in education. Using Jing through telecommunication projects could be very beneficial. Imagine a school from Germany working with a school from the United States. The topic could be the 2010 Winter Olympics. The students from Germany could use Jing to capture images and articles about their top athletes. They could then use Jing to create a narrated video explaining the athletes and why the students in the United States should cheer for these individuals. The students in the United States could then create the same type of video for the students in Germany.

I could also use Jing just with the students in my own classroom. I teach science, and many demonstrations are necessary to explain our day and night cycle, seasons cycle, moon phases, etc. Sometimes students understand the demonstrations I provide in class, and sometimes they don't. It would be helpful to use Jing with science websites to reinforce science concepts. Jing can be used in conjunction with science websites to create tutorials. Click on the following link to access one such tutorial I've created using Jing. EarthSeasons

Brad,
I have recently found out about Jing myself. Although I have it on my computer, I have not used it yet to create anything. I loved your idea on using Jing to create a tutorial for your students. Your tutorial on the season website not only let them see the URL site, but you have also set your students up for success. They know what to focus on because of the way you numbered the screen. By adding the numbered sections, they will be sure to pay attention to those areas. Thanks for sharing!
