When I first tried to view the video I created with Jing, I was able to do so within the Jing program. However, I then emailed the video link to myself and tried to watch the video in the email. I was unable to do so. I was then instructed to download a more up to date version of Adobe Flash Player. I needed to update to Adobe Flash Player 10. If you are interested in using Jing and viewing videos that are shared, the following link can help with viewing those videos.

The link listed below this paragraph will take you to a You Tube video created by a man that works for sterlingteachers.com. His job is to help teachers implement technology into their classroom. One of the technologies that he helps teachers implement is videos found on the internet. Many of the videos he tells the teachers to use are blocked by their school system's internet filters. To get around that, he uses Jing to make videos of various things online. In the remainder of his You Tube video he gives teachers directions on how to use Jing to capture images and videos on the computer. He then describes how to save and share the videos and images once they're created.

Jing Project and Education
There are many ways that the Jing Project can be used in education. Using Jing through telecommunication projects could be very beneficial. Imagine a school from Germany working with a school from the United States. The topic could be the 2010 Winter Olympics. The students from Germany could use Jing to capture images and articles about their top athletes. They could then use Jing to create a narrated video explaining the athletes and why the students in the United States should cheer for these individuals. The students in the United States could then create the same type of video for the students in Germany.
I could also use Jing just with the students in my own classroom. I teach science, and many demonstrations are necessary to explain our day and night cycle, seasons cycle, moon phases, etc. Sometimes students understand the demonstrations I provide in class, and sometimes they don't. It would be helpful to use Jing with science websites to reinforce science concepts. Jing can be used in conjunction with science websites to create tutorials. Jing Project
The Jing Project is a free software program tht allows users to capture their actions on the computer. These actions can then be shared with other users. A simple still image can be captured, or a video can be made with or without audio. Various editing tools are available on Jing. When capturing an image, a highlighter tool is available to highlight important information in the image. A colorful textbox can also be added to the screen. Arrows can be added to point out specific information. Some of the sharing options for the images or video could include sharing through email, through a blog, or just sharing through posting the image or video on a website. Videos and images can be saved on the users computer, or are automatically saved in the history section of the Jing program. As I mentioned before, the Jing Project software is free.
